Why do I Love Love Love living in Westport?? Well in the summer we are inundated with traffic flow, streets teem with new faces and cars from all over - it's a kids best dream - locating new licence plate from all over Canada and the U.S. Today was one of those days - I started off the morning seeing a lady grocering shopping that had bought a vacant lot off of us 2 years ago - all the way from Britain and here she is with her family in tow getting ready to build their dream home here in Westport. Spent the morning emailing clients that are from the U.S. and are getting ready to close on their deal this August for their future summer home. And then into my office walked the nicest couple from San Giacomo Italy! We discussed food and art (he makes his living as a prominent artist) and I tried not to drool on them as his wife mentioned loaves of fresh bread, red wine made locally and food picked fresh daily and made into the most incredible lunches, dinners that can be made in minutes and savoured for hours. Would I like to travel there? You better believe it! But do I feel that living in a small town has made me less aware of the world around me? Not a chance in Westport. We are just getting discovered and let me tell you - what the world thinks, not just Canadians - is that Westport is special, there is a certain something that you just can't deny that draws people in here - ice cream cones in hand and laden with shopping bags I watch them from my desk and every one has a relaxed pace about them, a contented look. I know that many are visiting for the very first time thinking "Could I live here all year round?" Ask those of us who do and we will tell you we love it all year round. Snow flying or blue water it is the prettiest place on earth - 2nd to San Giacomo my new friends tell me, but what can I say I'm partial!
