Local Governance - Provincial Gov't style and McHappy Days!Tuesday night I attended a meeting at the Riverview Lion's Center hosted by Bruce Fitch, NB Minister for Local Governance. The Minister is touring the province speaking to groups about three areas: Property Tax and Assessment, Regional Service Delivery, and Municipalo Funding arrangements. Market improves with the weatherWe have received the Moncton Board stats and, as expected, they are a big improvement over March. Number of sales for the month is up 11% over April 2010, the dollar volume is up 17%, which has put our year-to-date numbers into the positivies (finally) at 1%. Average saleprice is now $169,754, up 0.5% over the same time in 2010.

Olympic flame comes to Greater MonctonIt was s suitable party as over 12,000 people gathered at the new track and field stadium at U de M to welcome the Olympic flame to our area. It had made its way over from PEI earlier in the day and went through Moncton last night.

Two NB High School's drama classes going to ScotlandHere is another example of NB hitting above its weight. Fredericton High (FHS) and Moncton High(MHS) have been selected to be among only 7 high schools in Canada to attend the International Performing Arts festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is one of the largest such festivals in the world.
