Red Deer Real Estate, Last Week March, 2009March continues to roll along following the increase in volume that occurred in February.

We noticed a slow down in the number of listings coming on. This is a positive sign for sellers already on the market, they enjoy the decrease in competition. This is not a trend yet we shall continue to monitor the weekly movement as well as monthly.

April open for business and business was...Good. Sales were down from record 2007 sales volume, but well above 2006 numbers. More drops in the Interest rates, benefits who??Today the Bank of Canada announced yet another decrease in interest rates. A significant cut from 3.5% to 3.0%. The last time the Bank of Canada dropped rates by 1% in the same short time frame (6 weeks) was back in 2001. January 2008 Market Update,More of the same? Kind of, yes.December was a slow month in comparison to the other months in 2007. Sales of single family homes totaled 62 and in January we saw a modest increase up to 69 single family homes sold. Not a large numbers jump but still a 11.29% increase in sales.
