What was the input from the general public? We as members have paid to have the system built, the federal government did not give it to us. No one wanting to sell a property has to deal through organized real estate. Here is the ...

The problem is the source and infrastructure have limits. The demand for electrical energy is growing and it's production, economics, environmental impact, cost and long term sustainability should be a concern to us all. There are very few residents ...

The trout just like you and me are fanatic about fresh food.
Just as the light starts to ...

Farming, the old way, in the Quinte RegionOur rural area in Quinte is one of tremendous contrasts. The farmer who rents our land has recently put in two new methane digesters which will use cattle manure, field waste and even used restaurant grease to produce electricity. It's proven technology, and he will soon be supplying enough electricity to meet the needs of 400 homes. Amazing. I will try to post more about that in the future. ...

I wonder how many renters are right now waiting to buy a house because they are not sure what to do, and probably won't make a decision to buy ...

End of the Recession in CanadaWe have been listening to bad news about the economy long enough now that good news seems to hit us with a bit of a jolt. Can it be true? Has the economic recovery started?
Despite all the caveats in the Bank of Canada announcement two days ago -

Where is this market going in 2009?Where is this market going in 2009?
I get asked this question every day by Sellers, Buyers, and people on the street, and so do most real estate professionals! Everyone is curious, as though somehow real estate in Belleville were an indicator of where life in Canada is going in general. But is it?
We have a very locally defined market, as most places in Canada do: in the case of the Quinte ...

RECO INSURANCEAs most may know by now the RECO insurance premium that will be coming out in July for our errors, deposit and commission insurance has gone up. The new premium will be $258, up $34 from last year. RECO did use $25 from the insurance premium buffer fund to keep the premium to that level otherwise it would have been $$283. WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW is that the carrier has placed a cap on claims. ...
