Where did the name come from?  In discussions with Catherine Hennessey (local historian) the name Walter Patterson emerged. Walter Patterson was the first British governor appointed to Ile St. Jean (now Prince Edward Island).  His primary mandate was to encourage new settlers to make Charlottetown their home.

Edmond Fanning, the second Lt. Governor (hence Fanningbank), divided the common property north of what is now "downtown" into 12 Acre Lots and gave these lots to loyal subjects of the Queen as a thank you for their service. Fanning gave Lot 22 (Queen St.) to Patterson. 

These nicely finished units feature hardwood and ceramic flooring, hardwood cabinets and granite counter tops in kitchens and baths, open concept, high-end fixtures, electric heat, ICF foundation with 10” concrete walls and an outdoor balcony with garden door. Appliances included: fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Condominium fees are approximately $55 / month.  The development is two blocks from the downtown core, and will likely attract young urban professionals who want to live within walking distance to offices, business, restaurants, theaters, parks and all that downtown Charlottetown has to offer.
