In 2009 there were 126 single family sales in Stratford with an average price of $212, 487.

The Town of Stratford has become known as the fastest growing municipality on Prince Edward Island in recent years. It has seen it's population grow substantially with the development of newer subdivisions like Pondside, Kinlock Creek and Stonington. There are many reasons why Stratford is attracting so many people who at one time may have thought that Stratford (known to many Islanders as Southport, Bunbury, Crossroads, Keppoch-Kinlock and Battery Point) was too far 'out' of Charlottetown. That has changed with most amenities now offered 'across the bridge'. Stratford seems to offer it's residents the best of everything.

There is still a sense of rural PEI maintained in Stratford while urban conveniences such as Sobey's, restaurants, Stratford Home Hardware and a business park are minutes away. You can access the beach at Tea Hill Park, play tennis, ball hockey or basketball at Pondside Park, formerly known as the fish hatchery and where I personally took Red Cross canoe and boating lessons (I clearly recall the dread of being told it was canoe tipping day).

If you are a golfer, Fox Meadow Golf Course offers top rated golf and dining at their beautiful facility. Located right beside is the Canadian Golf Academy.

If soccer is your game, Stratford has the PEISA Indoor Soccer Complex. The Stratford Town Hall is located in the heart of Stratford at 234 Shakespeare Drive. With Stratfords population swelling, need for a new elementary school has turned to fruition with the building of an elementary school for  grades 4-6 being constructed next to the current grade 1-6 Glen Stewart Elementary school.

Though much has changed in Stratford, it remains a great place to raise a family. It is where I grew up.  I have very fond memories of biking to Tea Hill Park and to the Clover Farm (as it was then called) and meeting friends at Pondside Park. It is a place where I made life long friendships. It is only getting better.
