Kelowna getting a passport officeKelowna getting passport office
by Kelly Hayes - Story: 37421 Feb 19, 2008 / 11:39 am The long waits and travels to the Lower Mainland to get a passport are almost over. Kelowna MP, Ron Cannan, and Okanagan - Coquihalla MP, Stockwell Day, announced Tuesday that after years of lobbying, Kelowna is finally going to get a passport office. See Castanet.net for full story. This announcement is long overdue indeed. I am currently having to drive to the Coast this month to ensure that I receive my family's passports in time for a planned trip. To know that all I would have to do is drive down to the Capri Mall and wait in line sounds a lot more appealing for sure. Kelowna MP, Ron Cannan, and Okanagan - Coquihalla MP, Stockwell Day should be applauded for pushing the issue and making this into a reality. I know I would have benefited from a local passport office. The not so great news is it will be about two years for the passport office to open, but once it does it will be a pleasure to do business here in Kelowna. Sincerely, Jason Neumann
