New Listing-Great Condo For Sale in Saskatoon in Forest Grove in I just listed a great condo for sale in Saskatoon in the popular Forest Grove Village. This Saskatoon condo is a coach home. This means that, while it may look like an apartment style condo or a townhouse, it is a bit of a combination of both. Instead of having a hallway each unit is accessible from the exterior but unlike a townhouse the units are on upper and lower instead of side by side. As a ...

They place an ad on Kijiji using a house that is for sale in Saskatoon and when you email them back they send you a list of questions to obtain your personal information and then tell you how to send them a deposit as apparently Kari Calder is in Africa doing missionary ...

More Red Light Cameras-A Good Idea?So according the the Saskatoon Star Phoenix the City of Saskatoon is looking to add more red light cameras as they have found that the 2 that we already have on Ave C N and Preston Avenue have done nothing to decrease the number of collisions. Luckily, the number of serious accidents has decreased significantly however the number of collisions is up by 13% since its inception. These are mostly fender ...

Back from India and UAE, Back To Reality/Realty!I have been away for a month! We started our tour in Florida with my family for Christmas and had fun at Sea World this year. I was able to still do a bit of real estate in Saskatoon while in Florida but overall over Christmas the Saskatoon real estate market wasn't too crazy. Then on December 28th we were off to United Arab Emirates (UAE) and that was a very interesting trip. We only had 3 days ...

Saskatoon Real Estate Market UpdateTypically December is a slower month for Saskatoon real estate but this year our market has been busy. I think it has a lot to do with the weather as we have had much warmer than usualy temperatures as well as much less snow so it makes looking at houses for sale in Saskatoon a much nicer and easier process than in previous years when we are battling several feet of snow and minus 30 or so temperatures. ...

Impressed with Local Extreme CouponerI saw a face I recognized when I went online today to read today's news in the Star Phoenix as there was a picture and an article about a ga l I know who works as a Saskatoon Mortgage Broker. Chelsy Loehndorf is using skills that we see on TV which she has used to turn a few hundred dollars into thousands of dollars for donations to Saskatchewan families this holiday season. She turned ...

Real Estate-Not the Safest CareerReal estate anywhere can be a very unsafe career path but especially for women. Even in Saskatoon's real estate community we have had assaults, rapes, robberies, etc. Safety is a huge concern and a huge topic within our professional community.
This morning I came across an article from ABC news in the US that also played several videos. It gave me chills and tears to read and watch. Since the foreclosure ...

Market Update of Surrounding CommunitiesWhile the Saskatoon real estate market continues to be a busy one the number of sales in the surrounding communities of Martensville, Warman, Langham, etc was down 5% from November 2010. In 2010 there were 75 homes that sold in the communities surrounding Saskatoon. The other notable decrease is how many properties were put on the market though as in 2010 there were 154 houses for sale in Saskatoon's ...

Prairies Attracting More NewcomersIn case you haven't noticed, the community of Saskatoon has been changing with leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. I see it in Saskatoon real estate with the amount of calls I get from potential home buyers who are have a distinct accent. I have also noticed it in the Saskatoon homes for sale where we are now seeing more builders who are not originally from Canada.
Where Ontario was traditionally ...

Parking Fines Going Up?Have workers in Saskatoon's downtown core found the ticket to cheaper daily parking? I think so! So does today's report in the Star Phoenix. Instead of plugging the meter for $2/hour of parking with a 2 hour limit parking commissionaires and downtown business owners are starting to notice something unusual. The same vehicles keep parking in the same spots and keep getting parking tickets ...

Rent Control-What Does It Really Mean?Politics! Does rent control really work? Rent control is a restriction on the supply side of the market but this is the side that needs the most stimulating when we are in times of rental shortages. That is now. If a policy that is reducing supply is put in place the shortages are going to just worsen.
The Frontier Centre for public policy has addressed this issue many times and it shows real world ...

Great time to buy a house or condo in Saskatoon!Wow! I never thought I would see mortgage rates this low again but I am happy to see them! With the global economy once again in turmoil an earlier CREA forecast changed from a dip in sales to a boost in Canada's real estate market. The Bank of Canada is now expected to put off raising interest rates and, historically, real estate does well in time of uncertainty (according to CREA's chief economist ...
