Canadian Market is starting to slow down or is it?Canada’s residential property market is starting to slow down according to new figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
CREA’s March MLS Home Price Index increased by 5.1% year-on-year, same as February’s gain which was the smallest growth since June 2011.

OTTAWA, May 8, 2012 — The seasonally adjusted annual rate1 of housing starts was 244,900 units in April, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). This is up from 214,800 units in March.

March 2012 Consumer Price IndexBetween March 2011 and March 2012, consumer prices were up 1.9%, following a 2.6% increase in February. With the result of slower year over year increases in prices for food and energy, there difference was 0.7%.
