Did you know? Something to consider when buying or selling your home. Some Do It Yourself real estate companies have to put down Real Estate professionals in order to promote their business. Reminds one of the days when we were children and would throw stones at the girl/boy that we liked. Although, once an adult, it’s pretty petty. Perhaps business is slow for them. Not for us!
Why gamble with selling your biggest asset on your own?
Why gamble with buying ...

What do you do when somebody lowballs your home? When a buyer lowballs your home, you never, never, never reject the offer! This is the fastest and best way to kill a buyers desire. Most buyers are 'shopping around' when they do this. It's not a bad thing. It's the nature of being in a 'buyers market'. Now, having said that, they may follow through if you show them some flexibility. Show them you are willing to talk. Perhaps your bottom dollar isn't ...

What to do when you put your house on the market.FIRSTLY, start packing. It's amazing how often when I am showing houses to prospective buyers, the sellers haven't even started to pack, put away stuff they won't need to use for a while, or just plain be positive and anticipate their REALTOR® doing a good job and selling their home.
After you're done the putting things away, the showability of your home should already show signs of ...

Real Estate Open Houses... A thing of the Past?
One has to wonder these days if the traditional Open Houses that REALTORS® Worldwide have hosted are becoming a thing of the past. As a REALTOR® I do occasionally still host Open Houses, in fact just had 2 this past weekend, with very poor results, One couple only... So this leads me to wonder if perhaps with all the online marketing we do, photos, video tours etc ...

Spring has Sprung! Real Estate, It's a Sellin'! Why Not Join In?It would seem that a combination of things have moved people into the buying and selling mode. If you are looking for a home in the Kentville, New Minas, Coldbrook areas, then you should probably not procrastinate. There seems to be a number of buyers with the same idea as you. Certainly, if you are selling, then now would be a good time to have your home on the market, the flowers, the leaves ...

What do I predict for 2010?Last year was definitely a strange year!
Consumer confidence was iffy, when there was confidence with the buying public, many of them were turned down for mortgages even after being 'pre-approved' prior to purchasing a home. Lenders were very conservative in their lending, so it would seem. Buyers who might have previously been good to go, were turned down for financing.
The last quarter of 2009 ...

Is now a good time to list your home for sale?Although the Annapolis Valley is warm right now, November 9th, 2009, winter is definitely in the air. As with what happens every winter, potential sellers wonder if there is any point to putting their home up for sale. What with snow, slush, cold weather, blistering days of winter, we all think it's too inconvenient, there are no buyers who would bother to look at this time of year.

Will you really "save" the real estate commission?
When buyers see a home for sale ‘by the owner', they see a bargain. They imagine the REALTORS® fee going ...
