Hey, did you sell that house? Now there's a question I hear everyday! Surprisingly lately the answer has been yes. First half of Feb (according to the Red Deer Real Estate Board stats) show that sales for the month are already equal to sales for the entire month of January, (62 properties in Jan - 62 in first half of Feb.)
This doesn't mean prices are going up, but it does mean that people have confidence enough in the future ...

Why Buy a House in Red Deer Right Now?Today is a prime market for buyers to buy a home in Red Deer.
- We have roughly 553 homes on the market. What does this mean to buyers? It means that you have a large selection of homes that you can choose from, and possibly more bargaining power.
- Interest Rates are Low. Regional Mortgage Corporation had a posted 5 year term rate of 4.19% I believe that rates will eventually raise. Buy now ...

This is a great time to buy Real EstateWhy is it in a buyers market, buyers are reluctant to buy? And in a sellers market when it was the most difficult time to buy value in Real Estate they were buying like crazy! No one can predict when the market has hit the bottom, but people who buy during a buyers market are smart! They make a decision by asking themselves "has the market dropped enough to make this a good purchase?" The answer to ...

Foreclosures - Deal or No Deal?Recently we have seen a few more bank owned and court ordered sales on the market. I went through all of the listings in Red Deer and today there were 9 actives that would fall into this category. Many people that I have talked to lately are under the impression that we have many foreclosures on the market and this simply is not the case. It is not very likely that we will see foreclosure ...

Good Time to BuyIs now the right time to buy with the market the way it is ? The answer is yes , house prices are down from a couple of years ago, so if you are not planing on selling soon its a great time to buy. Mortgage rates are the lowest they have been in years , banks are giving incentives and there is a large number of homes to chose from.

Market Outlook - A New Horizon
So, there has been a lot of conflicting information in the media recently from recession talk, financial markets and strength of banks, and the housing market. This has made it very difficult to come up with any kind of game plan in order to prosper in these changing times. I think it is very important that we take a step back and look at the broader picture so that we can position ...

A Question of Patriotism? It has been brought to my attention that someone thought I was questioning people's Patriotism by stating "so be a good Canadian and buy a Home"... in my last blog. Well if you're thinking of patriotism in the manner of our soldiers abroad...you are stretching things a bit far, but if you mean "what can I do to help my country"...then maybe you're right.
No doubt these are scary economic times. ...

Red Deer Real Estate Last WeekReal Estate Activity is on the rise!
Talk to a few Realtors and you and the response will be that there is in fact more action in the market place.
The numbers also reflect that as noted above. There was an increase in listings as well as sales.
The weather on the weekend was fantastic. That may have something to do with the amount of traffic I witnessed at 38 Overand Place. ...

Real Estate Now Part 2The results of the survey are in. Last week I asked the question should you buy now. The consensus was that now was a good time to buy, and if you could you would. Here is the break Down:
1) Which best describes your real estate outlook?
I bought recently, no plans to move 22.2% I would buy if I knew this was the bottom 33.3% I would buy if I could sell my home 33.3%
I ...

Look at last week in Red Deer real estateHere are the weekly numbers:
The blue shaded areas represent homes that did not sell and are still available. We like to see that gap closer if you are selling. The bigger the gap the stronger the "buyers" market. You can see that sales were sluggish to start January 2009. Not to surprising given the doom and gloom in the air. Afterwards we had President Obama inauguration ...

Two of the Most Asked Questions in Red Deer Real EstateAlthough I believe my knowledge covers all(!), I will limit it to Red Deer Real Estate for this blog. The market is not as volatile as the media would have you believe. Sellers are not dropping their prices rapidly and buyers are searching for their interpretation of value...this is how the market works almost all the time.
First question: Should I buy now? Answer: If not now...when? Everyone ...

Brell suggested sharing market stats, I suggested using Google Docs, and here it is. Two Realtors who love our Real Estate and love looking at the numbers. Brell has suggested that other Century 21 associates join us, I think that is ...
