Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver has released information to the effect that the volume of sales for the month of June was the third highest ever . . . right up there with the booming 2006 and 2007 markets! What's more - competing Buyers with bidding wars! The report was qualified somewhat in that certain parts of the market are extremely active . . . meaning other parts are somewhat quiet or even quite slow. Who can sort all this out for you? In the Abbotsford area, similar activity as in Vancouver is also being reported. Some properties are 'hot items' on the market while others seem to languish. For Sellers, asking price still seems critical to attracting the right activity. Statistically, we are in a balanced market but that is not true for all segments. Some condo sales are very slow, in particular age and pet restricted buildings are not moving well and therefore the price suffers. Some of the entry level buildings are not moving well either.
